We are excitedly working on so many things in Collaboration Cabin! We are fast approaching many fun activities so we’ll make sure to give you all the information here in the weekly newsletter as they come up. There’s a lot of important information in this newsletter so please let us know if you have any questions. Forward Testing: Students will be Forward testing April 18th, 19th, and 20th. If at all possible, please make sure your child is present during testing days so that we can minimize make up testing. Students need plug in earbuds (this was on the school supply list) for testing. Many students have lost or broken their earbuds so please check that your child has a working pair of earbuds. A pair of earbuds from the Dollar Store is perfectly sufficient. Many students have been coming in with iPads that are low on charge (less than 25%). Please talk with your child about charging their iPad every night. We don’t have chargers or plugs for everyone to plug in and this will be especially important next week during testing. Thanks! Store Projects: Students should be bringing in their supplies or investment money this week. We will begin working on our products next week. Please know that anything you invest in your child’s store will be paid back after the sales night. It’s fine to donate your investment to the Giving Tree, but this is not expected. Thank you for your support for the store! In ELA, students will finish preparing for the Forward Exam and begin the new unit called Argument & Advocacy. There is a note about it that should come home today or tomorrow. In Social Studies, students have begun preparing for their Revolutionary War skits. Ask you child what their topic is, as well as what their job is within their group. In Math, we are learning about adding and subtracting decimals. Students will take an assessment on these concepts Friday. Next week we will begin multiplying decimals. In Science, we are investigating the different ways our world interacts with objects in Space. Right now we are learning about what makes Earth habitable for life. Things to be aware of: April 17th Pool Incentive!
