Hello Collaboration Families,
How has this year flown by so quickly? We cannot believe that the 4th quarter begins on Monday! We have loved working with your children and getting to know them as a person and learner. Be prepared for some really fun things coming up in the 4th quarter of the school year! Forward Testing: Students will be Forward testing April 18th, 19th, and 20th. If at all possible, please make sure your child is present during testing days so that we can minimize make up testing. Students also need plug in earbuds (this was on the school supply list) for testing. Many students have lost or broken their earbuds so please check that your child has a working pair of earbuds. A pair of earbuds from the Dollar Store is perfectly sufficient. Thanks! Store Projects: Be looking for investor letters from your child. Please know that anything you invest in your child’s store will be paid back after the sales night. It’s fine to donate your investment to the Giving Tree, but this is not expected. Thank you for your support for the store! In ELA, students will continue preparing for the Forward exam and get into the new unit. A note will be coming home about the expectations of this unit. In Social Studies, we’ll be getting ready for Revolutionary war skits. In Math, we are learning about adding and subtracting decimals! Students are being total rockstars and really showing a deep understanding of how to add and subtract decimal numbers. In Science, we are investigating the different ways our world interacts with objects in Space. Right now we are learning about Gravity. Ask your child about how high they could jump on other space objects we learned about. Things to be aware of: March 31st End of Quarter 3 Incentive! March 7th No school (Good Friday) March 10th No school April 17th Pool Incentive! April 18 - 20th FORWARD Testing April 25th-27th May 2nd and 3rd Shadow Days May 17 Collaboration Cabin Store sales night (students stay after school, students must be picked up at 6:00) Store Project: The Collaboration Cabin Store Project has begun. Please click on the link for more information. The store project is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about decimals and business and giving back to the community. Homework Board: We have a weekly homework board that has all of your child's assignments for our house classes. We've linked it here for your reference. This is also available here on the website in the Homework tab. Water Bottles: Please make sure your child has a refillable water bottle at school to stay hydrated. Any recyclable drink container is also welcome for students to use (ex. empty gatorade bottle) If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
