Hello Collaboration Families,
Happy February! We are enjoying this warm snap and hope you are too! Next Tuesday, we’ll be having a short Valentine’s Day celebration. Students will make their own decorated boxes at home. Boxes and valentines should come to school on Monday the 13th. Our field trip is coming up on March 1st (Mrs. Potts’ birthday!). Please be watching for a letter coming home in the coming weeks. Please be sure to fill out the form sent from the office to indicate whether your child needs a school lunch or not. In ELA, we will continue to research and take notes for our nonfiction topics. Students will take a post assessment about main ideas, details, writing a summary, and comparing and contrasting text structures this coming Monday. We started preparing for the assessment today and will continue throughout the week. In Social Studies, we’ll continue our unit on the Revolutionary War. We’ll continue going over the events that caused the war. In Math, we are learning to multiply fractions by fractions. Next week we will move on to mixed numbers. The students are doing such a great job with this concept. In Science, we are doing a Performance Task Assessment and will begin our Space unit next week.
