Hello Collaboration Families,
Wow, the year is halfway over! We are so proud of the hard work these students are putting into each learning day. Please chat with your child about how they feel the year is going and what their biggest glows and grows have been so far. In ELA, we’ve started the first part of our writing phase. Students chose their topics today and will work on organizing and note taking over the next five class periods. In Social Studies, we’re presenting our Colonization Simulations! In Math, we took an assessment on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. Tomorrow we will start learning about multiplication with fractions. In Science, we are continuing to learn about the water cycle and will be finishing our unit on our Watery Planet next week. Things to be aware of: Feb 1 Battle of the Books 3:15 Feb 1 Pokemon Club 3:15 Feb 3 No School - Staff PD Store Project: The Collaboration Cabin Store Project has begun. Please look for more information coming home this Friday. The store project is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about decimals and business and giving back to the community. Homework Board: We have a weekly homework board that has all of your child's assignments for our house classes. We've linked it here for your reference. This is also available here on the website in the Homework tab. Water Bottles: Please make sure your child has a refillable water bottle at school to stay hydrated. Any recyclable drink container is also welcome for students to use (ex. empty gatorade bottle) If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
