Hello Collaboration Families,
Thank you for all of the stickers! They are very appreciated! We are having a very hard time believing that the school year is almost halfway done. These students are so special, and we’re having a great time learning together each day. In ELA, we’ll continue tackling complex nonfiction texts. We’ll finish up the reading portion of the unit this week. In Social Studies, we’ll continue a group project that will focus on a slideshow simulation on the region of colonies the group decides to “move to.” Ask your child where they’re moving! In Math, we are working on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. We’re finding common denominators and making equivalent fractions. This is great time to work on math facts at home and incorporate measurement and baking skills. In Science, we are learning about the water cycle. Ask your child to sing the Water Cycle Song for you (Woop Woop) and explain how it works. Things to be aware of: Jan 16th Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School Jan 17th Group Picture Day Jan 18th 5th Grade Battle of the Books Qualifier Jan 19 Winter Choir Concert Homework Board: We have a weekly homework board that has all of your child's assignments for our house classes. We've linked it here for your reference. This is also available here on the website in the Homework tab. Water Bottles: Please make sure your child has a refillable water bottle at school to stay hydrated. Any recyclable drink container is also welcome for students to use (ex. empty gatorade bottle) Pencils: We are running out of pencils (again). Please check with your child to see if they have pencils. If you have pencils you can send in, we would appreciate it as our supply is running low for those students who don’t have them. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Mrs. Cantú and Mrs. Potts Comments are closed.
